Upgrading to a later version of PocketDOS
If you have registered PocketDOS and would like to upgrade to a later version of PocketDOS:
- Download the latest version of the PocketDOS demo.
- Uninstall any existing versions of PocketDOS.
- Install the demo.
- Enter your unlock code when installing the demo, or select "Register PocketDOS" from the "Help" menu once you have started PocketDOS.
If you have registered Datalight ROM-DOS for PocketDOS and would like to upgrade to a later version of Datalight ROM-DOS for PocketDOS:
- Download the latest version of the PocketDOS demo.
- Uninstall any existing versions of PocketDOS.
- Install the demo.
- Download the latest full version of Datalight ROM-DOS for PocketDOS.
- Enter your unlock code when installing the full version of Datalight ROM-DOS for PocketDOS, or select "Register PocketDOS" from the "Help" menu once you have started PocketDOS.
Upgrading Unlock Codes

You will need to upgrade your PocketDOS unlock code if you have changed any of the following:
- The make/model of handheld device
- Your Owner Name in Control Panel->Owner
or Settings->Owner
- The Operating System on your handheld device
- To upgrade your PocketDOS unlock code you will need to provide:
- ShareIt! Reference Number from your purchase
- Unlock code provided when you registered PocketDOS
- New system ID displayed when you start PocketDOS
- Your Owner Name in Control Panel->Owner or Settings->Owner
- If you do not have the ShareIt Reference Number from your purchase or the unlock code provided when you registered PocketDOS, then you will need to request this information from contact ShareIt via their Customer Care Center
- Fill out this form to request a new unlock code.
Upgrading from XT-CE to PocketDOS
If you have registered XT-CE and would like to upgrade to PocketDOS:
- Download the latest version of the PocketDOS demo.
- Install the demo, but do not install the ROM-DOS DOS system files (unless you wish to purchase a license to Datalight's ROM-DOS for PocketDOS).
- Enter your XT-CE serial number when installing the demo, or select "Register PocketDOS" from the "Help" menu once you have started PocketDOS.
- See the Tutorials for information how to create a bootable disk image from your XT-CE boot disk image.
OR
- Purchase a license to Datalight's ROM-DOS for PocketDOS.
If your XT-CE serial number does not unlock PocketDOS, you will need request a PocketDOS unlock code:
- To request a PocketDOS unlock code you will need to provide:
- ShareIt! Reference Number from your purchase
- Unlock code provided when you registered XT-CE
- New system ID displayed when you start PocketDOS
- Your Owner Name in Control Panel->Owner or Settings->Owner
- If you do not have the ShareIt Reference Number from your purchase or the serial number provided when you registered XT-CE, then you will need to request this information from contact ShareIt via their Customer Care Center
- Fill out this form to request a new unlock code.
